After the creation of District Chakwal and separation of
Choa Saidan Shah, the sub division presently comprises of long strip
of land, which is 95 kilometer in length from east to west. The
natural boundary to the North with District Chakwal is the salt
range also known as the “Kohistan-e-Namak” and in the south river
Jhelum bifurcates it from District Sargodha and Mandi Bahauddin and
in the West is District Khushab.
Government of Punjab has established new local government
system under the Punjab Local
Government Act (PLGA) 2013 after dissolving PLGO 2001. The
Administrator
have joined their offices and new local government system
has started functioning.
